The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) has published this Tuesday in the BOE the order that extends, until next May 15, the deadline for submitting the single application for aid from the Common Agricultural Policy (PAC) for the year 2021 throughout the national territory. East period began on February 1 and its completion was scheduled for April 30. However, given the current situation of a state of alarm, with restrictions on movement, Agriculture has considered it necessary to extend the deadline until May 15.

It is expected that about 680,000 applications will be submitted that will allow Spanish farmers and ranchers to receive the corresponding payments from next October 16. The total amount of direct aid for the 2021 campaign amounts to 4,860 million euros.

The demand to delay the procedures was transferred to the Ministry by the most representative organizations of the agricultural sector, as well as by some autonomous administrations. To the current situation of difficulty derived from the pandemic, join climatic adversities caused by irregularities in rainfall in some regions, which means that the spring crop sowing forecasts are changing, planning is delayed and, with it, the declaration of the CAP by farmers.

Consequently, and to facilitate the procedures related to the CAP in the current circumstances, the ministry has decided to extend the duration of the period of presentation of the single application of the CAP by fifteen days, which will therefore end, the May 15, in the confidence that this measure will give greater security to the beneficiaries of the aid.

Additionally, it should be remembered that in certain cases Aid applicants may submit a modification of their unique application until June 15. In addition, this will be the deadline for the presentation of the communications of assignments of basic payment rights and it is the date that is taken as a reference for the fulfillment of some direct aid requirements, such as the obligation to have the parcels at your disposal. for which the aid is requested.

On the other hand, the autonomous communities that deem it necessary may extend the deadline for submitting the single application in their territory until May 31.

Once the term ends, the autonomous authorities will begin to study the applications submitted to carry out the controls established in European regulations to filter aid, while ensuring that payments are not delayed.
