The National Military Pentathlon Championship, which was held a few days ago at the Toledo Military Academy, once again had a leading role for the Canary Islands. The Gran Canarian soldier Aday López Abellán was crowned individual champion for the sixth time and consecutively, demonstrating his enormous qualities.

With a total score of 5,219 points, one of her best marks at the national level in recent years, Aday López Abellán attended the appointment with some other unknowns about her performance, since she arrived in Toledo after having participated in the Military World Cup Marathon, held in Peru. But the Gran Canarian, representative of the Brican XVI, Brigade of the Canary Islands, and belonging to the
Tenerife Infantry Regiment 49, once again demonstrated his power in the military pentathlon by hanging himself a new gold medal. But we must also highlight at the individual level the second position of Sergeant 1st Rubén Rodríguez Chillón, also a representative of the Brican XVI and belonging to the 49th Tenerife Infantry Regiment.

In the female individual category, a great performance by Corporal
Delioma Reyes Rodriguez who took the third position.

But the success in Toledo also occurred at the team level, since the Brican XVI, Brigada de Canarias,
regained the top spot it had lost since 2019, with respect to the Brileg, Brigade of the Legion, usual rival in this military sports modality. In this 2022 appointment, the Brican XVI surpassed the Brileg and the well-known Brilat, Airborne Light Infantry Brigade.

As for the females,
Canary Islands also obtained the first place in the general classification by teams followed by Brileg and Comgeceu -Comandancia General de Ceuta-.
