Abrines gives Bara the victory against Baskonia and a place in the final of the Super Cup – La Provincia

He Barça will play the final of the Endesa Super Cup after defeating TD Systems this Saturday Baskonia (68-72) thanks to the magnificent reaction of Alex Abrines when the duel was more even, supported by Nikola Mirotic’s points, also decisive in this new team of Saras Jasikevicius.

The culé team did not have the best start to the course, but it was intoned with the passing of the minutes in the start for the national basketball after the pandemic. In the end he got a victory that will serve as learning for the future of the Barcelona team.

The Catalans adjusted their defensive capacity, improved on the rebound and soon generated their first advantages on the electronic. The blaugranas got to get 15 rental points in the third quarter thanks to the inspiration of an unstoppable Abrines (48-62).

The former NBA player scored 19 points and captured five rebounds, although Baskonia did not give up and went back to ‘plugging in’ the game with a sensational partial led by Vildoza. The 66-71 returned equality and forced Barça to resume concentration so as not to complicate life in the last minutes of the meeting.

Those of Dusko Ivanovic were not constant because his great reaction disappeared at the most important moment of the game. Henry pulled them closer, but also squandered the last chance to stroke extra time. A great block from Brandon Davies closed the stake and left the first semifinal of the Super Cup without history. Barça will fight again for a title that they have not raised since 2015.
