A cachalot has appeared dead on the coast of Tenerife, specifically on the beach of Taganana. The Asociación Socio Socio Cultural Taganana and AA.VV Voz del Valle, which brings together residents of the Rural Park of Anaga, released on Friday February 8 through their social networks images of the beached animal in this beach of the municipality of Santa Cruz of Tenerife.
In Canary Islands it is frequent that Dead cetaceans appear in different points of the coast of the Archipelago. One of these recent events took place in the beach of Melenara of the Gran Canaria municipality of Telde, where last February 5 a dead sperm whale appeared stranded on the shore of the beach, which was discovered by the first bathers who came to this area. The cetacean, which seemed to measure more than five meters in length, showed a deep wound on the caudal fin that could be produced by a ferry.
