Entered in a hospital with a stab in the belly, the smile of Mariana Rocha It explains everything. The Portuguese surfer, 21 years old and ninth in the female surf ranking of her country, suffered an attempted rape last Friday when she returned to her home in Estoril, which she managed to avoid thanks to her "cold blood".
Rocha walked at night between the beaches of Poza and Azarujinha on her way home when she was assaulted by a man who threw her to the ground. The surfer was able to throw a knee to the aggressor's testicles, which prevented her from being raped, but she could not dodge the stab that she received before the man ran away. Although he is out of danger, Rocha will not be able to travel to Brazil where he planned to compete in the coming days.
It was the surfer herself who explained what happened on her Facebook page. "Anger, frustration, pain, fear … I'm not even sure what I feel … Not only because I know how lucky I was, but because of the fact that the son of a bitch is still out there. I was going home alone at night, when a man tried to rape me. It did not. I was lucky to have the cold blood to knee him in the testicles before he stabbed me. I have a lot of respect for all the women who can not react like I did and are raped by these crazy people who are loose and should be in hell. Above all, I thank God for staying alive … "
