The nurse, from the Balàfia I residence in Lleida, has been isolated along with four of her colleagues and 66 residents of the center, where a positive from another professional has also been detected, although the Department of Health has specified that the cases are not related.

The nurse tested positive on Monday, just 24 hours after having participated in the vaccination tasks at the nursing home. According to health sources, a PCR screening has begun on the 78 workers of the center throughout this Tuesday.

From the Department of Health they point out that the infected nurse barely had contact with the residents, since it was less time than the 15 minutes necessary to be considered a close contact of a positive. The elderly, however, have been isolated in a “preventive” way.

Catalunya began its vaccination campaign last Sunday in various residences throughout the community. Apart from the mentioned center in Lleida, doses were administered to 802 people at the Nostra Senyora de Ribera residences, in Pobla de Segur (Alt Pirineu and Aran); La Mercè, in Tarragona (Camp de Tarragona); Natzaret, in Móra d’Ebre (Terres de l’Ebre); Font dels Capellans, in Manresa (Central Catalonia); Mil·lenari, in Barcelona city; Sabadell Gent Gran, in Sabadell (Metropolitana Norte), and Creu de Palau, in Girona.
