A new turn of course of 'Leslie' moves away the hurricane of the Canary Islands - The Province

The new update of his trajectory indicates that Leslie has made a turn towards the west that would make the hurricane no longer affect the Canary Islands or Madeira. This has been reported by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) on its Twitter account in one of its latest publications.

After several changes of course, which has generated uncertainty about the passage of the hurricane through the archipelago, it seems that finally the Islands will not suffer the ravages of this meteorological phenomenon.

The last information that was available the night of this Tuesday, October 9, indicated that the hurricane had experienced a slight turn to the South, bringing part of its trajectory to the Northwest of the Canary Islands. Last Monday's forecasts referred to a detour to the north of the tropical storm Leslie, whose evolution was being monitored by the Miami Hurricane Center. Predictive models indicated that this modification, after having previously advanced eastward across the Atlantic Ocean, made it unlikely that Leslie affected the Archipelago, placing its development halfway between the archipelagos of the Azores and Madeira.

The Aemet has advanced that during the weekend the archipelago will register showers, especially in the western islands and that will make their first appearance throughout today.
