A mosso d’esquadra has allegedly murdered his ex partner and has committed suicide right after in Terrassa (Barcelona), as he has been able to confirm El Periódico. The agent has committed the alleged sexist crime with his regulatory firearm.
The event occurred in the parking of a building on Madrid Avenue from the city of Egarense at around 9:00 p.m. According to the first information, the bodies of the woman and the agent – belonging to the citizen security unit – have been found with headshots. The Mossos have opened an investigation to clarify the case.
Terrassa’s wife would be the fourth victim of sexist violence in 2020. The first two were killed on the night of Reyes, when a man killed his wife and three-year-old daughter in Esplugues de Llobregat.
The other sexist crime this year occurred last Sunday in Puertollano (Ciudad Real), when a 61-year-old woman of Ukrainian nationality was shot by her partner.
During 2019, a total of 55 women lost their lives in Spain at the hands of their partners or ex-partners, which meant a new rebound and that the death toll was the highest since 2015.
Precedent in Sant Feliu de Llobregat
The Terrassa event is reminiscent of what happened four years ago in Sant Feliu de Llobregat, when a depressive mosso killed his ex-girlfriend with one shot and killed himself.
