The writer Irene Solà (Malla, 1990) returns to bookstores with the Spanish translation of her first novel: The levees (Anagram, 2021), translated by Paula Meiss. Following the success of his I sing and the mountain dances (2019 Llibres Anagrama de Novel Award), one of the books that has given the most talk in the last two years, the Anagrama publishing house has decided to recover his first novel, which he wrote in Catalan. Solà’s success now extends to the theater: the adaptation of I sing and the mountain dances has sold out until May 2. The direction of the play is by Guillem Albà and Joan Arqué, the dramaturgy by Clàudia Cedó and the musical composition by Judit Nedderman. The theatrical space of the Biblioteca de Catalunya is a unique and almost mystical place for the cast of six actresses and actors to bring the mountains of Camprodón and Prats de Molló closer to the center of Barcelona. According to the author herself, the adaptation has managed to capture the magical universe of the novel.
