A judge prohibits State Lotteries from selling the National Lottery on its website

The Mercantile Court No. 6 of Madrid has prohibited the State Lotteries and State Gambling Company (SELAE) from selling tenths of the National Lottery through its website, considering that it is unfair competition with respect to lotteries.

In a ruling, the court partially upheld the demand for the Fair Play Platform, represented by the Roca Junyent firm, which represents 200 lottery operators from all over Spain, and establishes that the State Corporation abuses the economic dependence of the administrations.

SELAE has been selling National Lottery tickets since 2015 on its website, while prohibiting administrations from selling products that are not owned by the State Corporation itself, which places these outlets in a "situation of inequality".
