Based on the data managed by the health administration, the region added 141 covid detections and two deaths related to the effects of the pathogen on Wednesday. The victims, one person in Gran Canaria and another in Tenerife, ranged in age from 50 to 57 years old and remained in hospital.

By islands, Tenerife gathered 92 infections; Gran Canaria 36; Lanzarote five; and Fuerteventura eight. On the contrary, El Hierro, La Gomera and La Palma did not add new patients to their statistics.

It should be noted that the vaccination campaign continues to advance in the Archipelago and the professionals of the Canary Health Service (SCS) had administered 1,267,139 of the sera against Covid-19 until Tuesday. That day, there were already 440,657 people immunized against the virus in the Islands, which represents 23.55% of the target population. Only in the course of that day, the nursing staff inoculated 28,485 injections, a figure that translated into a new daily record for the community.
