The 4-year-old was found this Monday in La Manga, according to emergency sources
The emergency services found on Monday the body of a four-year-old boy on the coast of the Region of Murcia. With him, there are now four the number of fatalities found in the Community's coastal waters in recent hours, both in La Manga and on El Mojón beach.
According to sources from the emergency team, the four-year-old boy was found at kilometer 18 of La Manga del Mar Menor. The Judicial Police team of the Civil Guard has taken charge of the child's body and has opened an investigation with the forecast of transferring the corpse to the Institute of Legal Medicine of Cartagena.
The same sources consulted by this means indicate that the bodies found on the beaches of the Region of Murcia on the last day may be due to the fact that the east wind has dragged fatalities from boats that have been shipwrecked on the Valencian coast and, even, in Balearic Islands.
La Manga and San Pedro
The first findings occurred this Sunday, when agents of the Local Police and the Civil Guard, together with members of the Maritime Rescue and lifeguards of 112, rescued the lifeless bodies of two men and a woman who were floating in the water in front of to La Manga, in San Javier, and a third, on El Mojón beach, in San Pedro del Pinatar.
The first of the corpses was located by some young people who were practicing kitesurfing and a boat that was sailing through the area, several meters from the Ensenada del Esparto beach, at kilometer 16 of the Gran Vía. The agents approached the corpse until a few meters before the shore. According to police sources assured to this medium, the body had been in the water for several days, given the state of decomposition that the body presented.
Hours later, the Local Police of San Javier received notice from the occupant of a jet ski of the sighting of another corpse that was floating in the sea in front of the Estacio beach, at the height of the Pedruchillo area, in the kilometer 8 of the Gran Vía.
Later, the body of a woman dressed in Arab-type clothing was located. According to sources consulted by this means, the woman could be one of the crew members of a boat that was shipwrecked three days ago in the waters of the Valencian Community. Minutes after midnight, police sources confirmed the discovery of a third body on a beach in El Mojón, in San Pedro del Pinatar. The same sources do not rule out that the body belongs to another crew member of the boat that was shipwrecked on August 25 off the Valencian coast.
A fifth corpse in the Pillar
The Civil Guard confirmed the location of a fifth body this weekend on a beach in Pilar de la Horadada (Alicante), an area highly frequented by citizens of the Region of Murcia given the proximity between the two areas.
