A minor of three years has died this Sunday after overturning the tractor in which she was traveling on a track in Collado de Cieza (Cantabria) and her father, who was with her, has been seriously injured.
The father presents a severe head trauma.
Both circulated through a concrete road and, for reasons that are unknown, have fallen some 15 meters down the side of a farm, the Emergency Service of 112 reported in a press release.
The Emergency Coordination Center 112 of the Government of Cantabria has received a call to alert the accident minutes before 12:00 and, to address the event, has mobilized firefighters from the autonomous service, belonging to the park of Los Corrales de Buelna, and 061 health and the Primary Care Emergency Service (SUAP) of the latter municipality.
It has also displaced members of the Civil Guard and the helicopter rescue team of the Executive, in case it was necessary to make emergency transfers to hospital centers, as has finally happened.
Upon arrival, the firefighters of the 112 have taken the child from the place where he was and have begun the work of resuscitation until the arrival of the medical teams that have followed with their attention.
It has also been the firemen who freed the adult, they have sought a first attention and have moved him on a stretcher to the ambulance, where staff of the Cantabrian Health Service has continued with the necessary sanitary work.
Once assessed the seriousness of both, it has been decided the transfer of the small, in critical condition, in the helicopter of the Government of Cantabria under the care of the doctor of the executive rescue team.
The 112 indicates that despite all the efforts of the doctors to save his life, both at the accident site, on the aircraft, and at the airport, the girl died at the Seve Ballesteros airport.
The middle-aged adult driving the tractor was evacuated to the Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital in a 061 ambulance under the care of SUAP personnel, in serious condition.
The psychosocial team of the Red Cross has been activated to assist family members.
