64.8% of the unemployed received an unemployment benefit in November 2019, which is an improvement over the same month’s coverage rate of the previous year, which stood at 59.9%.

According to data published this Friday by the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Social Security, in November there were 1,964,132 people protected by an unemployment benefit or allowance, 6.5% more than a year earlier.

Of these, 0.87 million received a tax benefit (10% more); 0.85 million, a subsidy (8.5% more); 0.14 million, active insertion income (12.8% less); 0.1 million, the subsidy of possible agrarian (4.1% less), and 23 people (98.8% less) the extinct program of activation for employment.

Total expenditure on benefits amounted to 1,701.2 million euros, 12.9% more, and the average monthly expenditure per beneficiary, not including agricultural subsidies, stood at 889.1 euros, representing an increase of 6% .

In November there were 213,451 beneficiaries of foreign benefits, 7.2% more than a year earlier, accounting for 10.9% of total recipients and 37.3% of total foreign job seekers.

In that month, 682,541 unemployment benefits were requested, 2% more, and 661,757, 3.3% more, were processed.
