MadridUpdated:

Card or cash? This is one of the doubts that may arise when we travel to a foreign country. 59% of Spaniards have it clear and opt for the first option, compared to 41% who prefer to pay with metallic money. They are data from Bnext, marketplace of financial, insurance and travel related products.

Bnext indicates that by age, card payment increases as we age. 56% of young people between the ages of 19 and 24 use the card as a payment method, a percentage that increases to 65% when they exceed 45 years.

Conversely, cash payment is less and less used over the years. 45% of people between the ages of 19 and 34 use this system, but the figure drops to 31% when they are over 45 years old. The I Study on the Profile of the Traveler, of Bnext, indicates that there is no difference by gender, since both women and men opt for card payment rather than cash.

People aged 35 to 44 are the ones who leave the most money on each trip. By gender, men invest more than 600 euros against women, who remain in the 587. Those who spend less money for this activity are the youngest, between 19 and 24 years old, although in this age group they are the ones that leave more money, 450 euros compared to 409 euros of them.
