523,344 workers would be left out of the ERTE with the offer of the Government




Only a 180 degree turn in the negotiations to be extended by the ERTE will allow employers and unions to sign an agreement to extend the employment aid. The proposal defended by the ministers of the socialist wing of the Government, José Luis Escrivá, Nadia Calviño and Reyes Maroto, of maintaining aid only for the most damaged sectors – hotels, travel agencies, aviation and theater, which would put commerce and hospitality out of business – would leave 523,344 workers without protection, which means that about 80% of those affected by a file due to force majeure would remain outside the safety net, according to data handled by the negotiators of the social agents.
