In the absence of a day to conclude the special Christmas operation, the Spanish roads have already left a provisional balance of 51 deaths in 47 traffic accidents, a spokesman for the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) has informed Efe.
This balance, which includes from last December 20 until this Sunday at 20 hours, exceeds the final of last Christmas that was 47 dead in 44 accidents.
The special operation closes tomorrow, Reyes festival, and the final balance will be announced on Tuesday.
So far, the most fateful day was December 21, with a total of eight deaths in road accidents.
Today there has been a fatal accident in Nonaspe, Zaragoza. The victim is a 63-year-old man whose vehicle has left the road, the A-2411, and has been ruined by a slope of about ten meters.
