A five-month-old baby from Madrid is the second case of coronavirus confirmed in the region of Murcia, after the first one was detected this Sunday, a 27-year-old woman who also traveled to the capital of Spain a week ago.
“Confirmed second case of #coronavirus in the # RegióndeMurcia. A 5-month-old baby also coming from Madrid. Mild symptoms. Tonight tests of the parents are performed. More details will be communicated tomorrow,” says the health portal of the Region of Murcia in a tweet.
The infected woman is admitted to the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital in El Palmar, with two direct relatives with whom she has been in close contact in home isolation.
At a press conference, the head of that department, Manuel Villegas, informed that another eight people with whom the hospitalized woman has had relations are being monitored daily from the epidemiology service of that reference center, with a High level isolation unit for cases of risky infectious diseases.
This Monday an interdepartmental commission will be convened with other councils and administrations interested to assess the situation after these cases of coronavirus.
