32% of the target population have already received a dose of the vaccine


The vaccination campaign against Covid-19 is progressing in the Canary Islands and in the autonomous community 606,348 people have already received a dose of the sera, which represents 32.4% of the target population. This was announced yesterday by the Regional Executive Health Department, taking into account the data corresponding to the close of the day on Tuesday. In addition, up to that moment, 286,338 users had already completed the guideline, 15.3% of the inhabitants called for inoculation.

Since December 27, the date on which the vaccination activity began to face the coronavirus pandemic in the entire national territory, 862,864 doses of the compounds have been administered, which translates into 87, 5% of arrivals to the Canary Islands up to that date –985,770–.

It should be noted that last Monday, the region received a new shipment with 78,290 doses of Pfizer prophylaxis. In addition, a shipment of 7,600 units from Janssen will arrive today and 14,100 Moderna vaccines will land on the Islands on Friday. However, the number of doses that will be received this week of the product developed by AstraZeneca, as well as the date of shipment, is still unknown.

New record

It must be said that during the day on Tuesday the professionals of the Canary Health Service administered 21,736 injections, a daily figure that represents a new record in this campaign.

The vaccination schedule continues to be developed in response to the priority groups set out in the Immunization Strategy. In this way, each basic health zone progresses according to the compounds available for each of the groups.
