3-1. Espanyol engulfs Villarreal and remains intractable in its stadium

Espanyol added its fifth triumph at the RCDE Stadium against a Villarreal (3-1) that practically only appeared in the goal of Ekambi in 45 and that was at the mercy of the greatest intensity and hunger of the host, who was ahead of the seven minutes and finished after the break.

The blue and white picture showed good football, offensive and combinative, while the rival, with greater wear, got stuck in too many sections.

Hernán Pérez opened the scoring, Darder broke the tie in 79 and Piatti, already in the discount, put the finishing touch to a great afternoon for fans parakeets.

Borja Iglesias enjoyed the first match of the match at 50 seconds. The forward controlled the ball very close to the small area and fell to the grass after the mark of the centrals: he asked for a penalty, but the referee did not grant it. Two minutes later he had another one on one, but his shot went straight to the goalkeeper.

The start of the host was dizzying and no frills: looking to take advantage of the weekly wear of Villarreal and mark the first. The de Calleja, who had only approached with a direct foul, had problems to contain the avalanche. The yellow defense finally broke down after seven minutes.

Borja Iglesias stole the ball, cut his center and attended Hernán Pérez, who ran on his left. The Paraguayan stung the ball and sank the submarine (1-0).

Espanyol signed a monologue with the chances of Barn and, above all, Borja Iglesias, with ease to reach the area, but without success in the shooting.

The locals forgave too much, although Villareal did not merit to draw. The yellows were thick and without ideas, very permissive in defense. The Rubi entered the danger zone as they wanted, by the bands or directly by the center: the match was theirs.

The perica fans suffered in the 37th minute. Marc Roca and Diego López had to cut the ball on the line in a chaotic play. It was a preamble to the rival draw.

Ekambi, head, took a rebound and signed the 1-1 in 45. The VAR fueled the suspense, but rose to the scoreboard and opened a completely new scenario at half-time.

Villarreal presented another aspect in the RCDE Stadium, with more hunger than in the first half. Ekambi and Fornals now threatened more often the Blue and Whites, who were not satisfied with the draw either. Javi Lopez and Dídac tried it from the front and Sergio Garcia was determined to sneak into the defense.

The clash was now back and forth, with more spaces and alternatives for both teams. After 65 minutes, the two technicians moved the bench with changes to keep pace on the grass, not to protect the result. However, it was Espanyol that most looked to the rival area.

The insistence of Sergio García was maintained and the entrance of Melendo gave one more point of electricity to the ball circulation. Still, the aim was still missing.

In 76, Borja Iglesias was very close to connecting a center: Espanyol was doing more merit than Villarreal to add the second. And the award came in 79. Melendo attended with precision to Darder, who overtook Asenjo and lit Cornellà -El Prat.

Former blue and white Gerard Moreno, cheered on his return, had in his boots the 2-2 in the next action with a promising against, but in the hand to hand with Diego Lopez got entangled and fell to the grass.

A hand of Asenjo avoided the third in 88. The goal shortcut the race and the shot of Baptistao, wanting to fatten his account director. Although he could not do anything with the speed of Piatti, which left the 3-1 in the electronic in the added time.
